Modeling the initial curvature of members in the analysis of structural models
Aligerová, Jana ; Martinásek, Josef (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the reaction of pressed indirect members in terms of their stability. Three models of indirect members with different types of curvature will be used for the solution – a member model with initial curvature, a member model with initial benting and a member model indirect due to load. For these three models, a parametric study of the member will be made in which a calculation will be performed on a member with initial properties identical for all types of models. In the next section, the dependence of critical force and initial deflection on the behaviour of the member models with initial curvature and benting will be investigated. Furthermore, the member design will be carried out in terms of load carrying capacity. In this design, a comparison will be made between the simplified method of calculation on the curved members and the design in terms of the buckling strength concept. The acquired knowledge in the field of stability theory on an indirect member will be applied to the real structure of the lookout tower Borůvka near Hluboká.
The Concept of Ideal Woman's body in Women's Lifestyle Magazines
Kratochvílová, Renata ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The diploma thesis The Concept of Ideal Woman's Body in Women's Lifestyle Magazines analyses two women's lifestyle magazines Marianne and Svět ženy in period of the year 2017. The thesis aims to find out how the pages of both magazines approach the beauty ideal of women's body and it is based on the hypothesis that there is a beauty ideal related to thiness presented in the lifestyle magazine in general. The thesis examines both pictorial and textual magazine's content including the title pages and it is performed by quantitative content analysis and semiotic analysis. The thesis is primarily based on the Theory of The Social Construction of Reality which described in more detail in theoretical part of the thesis. This part is further devoted to definition of particular theoretical terms and concepts which are important for the correct understanding of the whole thesis and the next is part devoted to researches which already examined the beauty ideal in media. The end of theoretical part categorizes women's press and describes its expansion. The second methodological part is devoted to thesis'research plan, more detailed description of both examined magazines and also to the description of methods used in the last part which were quantitative content analysis and semiotic analysis. The analytical...

Measure the level of Leanness of specific company in the electronics industry
Langr, David ; Martínez, Felipe (advisor) ; Moravec, Stanislav (referee)
This thesis brings a view of the Leanness level of company based on ethnographic research. The combination of these two disciplines, the Lean concept and ethnography, is unique and brings new direction to research the level and approach of organizations to Lean philosophy. There is possible to assess the company in areas of value for customers, waste and continuous improvement through the research. Through the analysis, it is possible to find out where the organization has areas for improvement. The aim of the thesis is to propose the step to increase the level of Leanness of the organization. The thesis deals with the analysis and measurement of Leanness level of production and administrative processes in a manufacturing plant in the electronics industry.
Perception of beauty - biological vs. cultural determinants
Obdržálková, Zita ; Soukup, Václav (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with problems of biological and cultural determinants influencing perception of beauty. It attempts to find out if there is a common biological basis of perception of beauty or if beauty represents merely a sociocultural construct - product of a specific culture. With respect to biological determinants it concerns biological processes significantly influencing perception of beauty. In this context, these processes include probably innate evolutionary adaptations, effects of brain cognitive systems and neural correlates processing perceptions of beautiful objects. In connection with cultural determinants it presents studies emphasizing cross-cultural differences in perception of beauty. Further subject of the thesis is an aesthetic conception of subjective and objective beauty and related concept of beauty based on mathematical relations. In this connection, the creation of universally beautiful objects based on fixed mathematical rules as well as the possibility of exact measurement of beauty are discussed.
Assessment level of leanness in the automotive company
Šimeček, Jakub ; Martínez, Felipe (advisor) ; Mejdrech, Vlastimil (referee)
Lean management is an approach that has made a revolution in a several industries. The measurement of its approach usually deal with quantitative approaches. However, the expansion of this phenomena lacks of qualitative perspective. Therefore, this is new opportunity to explore new metric to determinate the level of leanness of the organisation. This thesis explores new approach to deal with measurement of leanness. Main goal is to analyse level of leanness in the company automotive industry through the ethnography research and propose improvement which increase current state in that company.
Impact of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Practical on leanness level of organizations in Czech Republic
Votočková, Iveta ; Martínez, Felipe (advisor) ; Svobodová, Hana (referee)
The aim of this work is to determine a methodology to measure the leanness level of the organizations that have an internship in the framework of the minor specialization of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma at University of Economics. The theoretical part of the Thesis presents issues of Lean Six Sigma methodology, describes basic characteristics and main Lean Six Sigma tools. The Thesis also describes process of a research, on which was applied the proposed measurement methodology of an internship impact on organizations. The research methodology describes leanness measurement approach, process of data collection and its subsequent analysis and evaluation. The last chapter includes conclusion of results, suggestions and recommendations to improve Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Practical.
The Meaning of Body Image in Marketing
Jarošová, Lucie ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Zamazalová, Marcela (referee)
Každodenní život plný konzumu nám jasně dokládá sílící boj o zákazníka. V konkurenčním boji často vítězí ten, o kterém víme více a lépe.
